The Cathedral building itself will be 150 years old in 2025. The parish of St. Andrew goes back even further.
Most Reverend David J. Walkowiak, J.C.D., is the 12th bishop of the Diocese of Grand Rapids. He was appointed bishop by Pope Francis on April 18, 2013. He was ordained and installed on June 18, 2013 during Mass celebrated at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew.
Priests of the Missionary Society of St. Paul have been serving in Grand Rapids for over 75 years through the Catholic Information Center. They have been serving the Cathedral of Saint Andrew since 2008.
