First Communion

What is the Eucharist?

Communion is also known as the celebration of the Eucharist, where the bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit and the instrumentality of the priest. This is what the Church means when she speaks of the “Real Presence” of Christ in the Eucharist.

First Communion

Second grade is the typical time for your child to receive the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Reconciliation. Older children can also receive these Sacraments through the Religious Education program.

Communion at Mass

Catholics are encouraged to receive Holy Communion devoutly and frequently. Click “learn more” to read about who is eligible to receive Communion.

Returning Catholics

Adults who have been away from the Catholic Church but wish to return to receiving Communion are encouraged to meet with a priest. Call the parish office to make an appointment.
