Holy Orders

What are Holy Orders?

Persons of good character with the calling of the Holy Spirit discern a vocation and are formed by the Church to serve the Church. Holy Orders is the sacrament in which Jesus acts to receive people into the ministry of the deacon, the priest, or the Bishop of the Church.

Paulist Fathers Vocations

The Paulist Fathers are an order of priests that serve the Cathedral at the behest of the bishop. The Paulists serve in the U.S. and in Rome. They were founded by Servant of God Isaac Hecker to be missionaries to the Americas.

Diocesan Vocations

Diocesan Deacons and Priests serve in the diocese where they are ordained. Visit the Diocese of Grand Rapids webpage for vocation information.
